About Julie
"You are a part of me I do not yet know"" Author Valarie Kaur
Julie Hrdlicka (she/her) has dedicated the past 25 years to community work, using her skills to build, collaborate, and organize for social change. She served as a human rights observer in Iraq in 2003 and 2005 and was elected as a School Board Trustee at the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) in 2015 and 2017.
During her time at the CBE, Julie faced a conflict that deeply impacted her. As she reflected and began her healing journey, she realized that many others around her were also struggling with trauma, disconnection, and emotional dis-regulation due to conflict. This realization inspired her to create her mediation and facilitation business, Conflict Revolution.
Julie’s mediation and facilitation approach is rooted in Transformative Mediation which focuses on shifting from a destructive interaction to a productive interaction.
Julie’s work is guided by Restorative and Transformative Justice principles, both of which emphasize relationships, accountability, and the goal of ending harm.
